There will be two significant changes to registrations for the 2021 season.
It must be stated that sustainabilty is two stranded. If numbers are two high in a club, access to facilities for training and provision of playing kit becomes both challenging and expensive. If numbers are too low, the filling of teams and the provision of coaches becomes difficult.
In an effort to balance player numbers across clubs to make all clubs sustainable for the future, the association committee has decided that all new players will be directed to those clubs that traditionally have had fewer players register. The exemption to this rule will be players that have siblings already registered with a club.
It has also been decided to open registrations in a staged manner this year with the smaller clubs- Dampier, Glory and Wickham- opening first on February 15th and the other three- Baynton, Nickol and Salt- opening registrations on February 29th.
The second change is that players will register by age/ year of birth.
The age categories that have existed in our competion for a number of years are not aligned to the Inter Towns and Country Week competitions.
This year all players will register by age. The comittee will then review the numers and see if it is possible to align to the 11s, 13s, 15s and 18s that are the representative teams age groups.
